Just a quick FYI . . .

We tried this once not too long ago - I can't remember the issue, perhaps
Anne can help me because I believe she was there - but it flopped.

Perhaps, it flopped because of the way it was presented by the Secretary -
something tells me that was PART of the reason.  However, there is always a
risk of the members getting a feeling that the SC is trying to control the
meeting and then the SHTF.  

Personally, I also like the idea.  And I also believe that the SC does an
outstanding job of not only running the show in the background so the
members of ASP have continual access to what I have been told is the best
online meeting there is, but the SC also has the best information available
about our issues and works well together to come up with well balanced
solutions to issues that face ASP.  

The perpetual problem is whether the members really trust the trusted
servants or not.  

Remember the SC is responsible for ASP 24/7/365.  Trust me, it can be
incredibly frustrating to spend many hours over a period of weeks or even
months to develop what we feel is a good sensible solution, entirely within
Al-Anon Traditions, and then sit there while the Business Meeting picks it
apart and complains about how the SC is controlling.
