. personally this quarter, I think we should give all our overages to the
WSO and then continue discussion of other disbursement options, there will
be overages again next quarter etc. that can go to other service arms which
is ultimately my preference.   

 

I believe someone in this meeting thought the WSO would distribute funds to
GSO's and others.  I do not believe the WSO  distributes $$$ to groups,
districts, areas or GSO's.   We (that is groups, districts and areas in the
brick and mortar realm)distribute systematically/sequentially and only after
we have met our obligations and expenses- if it were single threaded it
would look like this. from the individual to the group, group to district,
district to area, area to WSO.  I have NEVER heard of the WSO distributing
$$$ to groups, districts or GSO's, has anyone else?  I do however, believe
the WSO has substantial value to Al-Anon worldwide and to families in need,
this despite perhaps not being  a perfect fit to the online community. 

 

My concern with earmarking overages to our list of current potential service
arms is that those arms are currently potentials only.  This because:

.         I don't have a mailing address or contact for OLA and continue to
get no response from anyone there.   

.         There is no plan/we have no plan for distributing to GSO's - a
list of addresses, hierarchy, etc.-addresses are "easy" enough to get, the
hierarchy?  Well. more difficult.  

 

And, based on my understanding of the concepts and traditions, there is no
good reason to hold funds while we try to figure this out.  Therefore, I
believe the WSO can and should get our overage at this time.
