Welcome to the ASP Business Meeting for August 2014.
The participants include: Karen, Colleene, Anne, Steve, Melanie H, Melanie
S (secretary), Jerry, Cyndi, Apryl, Cathy, Adele, JT, LindaLee, and
Nancy.

This is the address you will use to send in shares to the Business
meeting. Please do not send your business shares to the recovery meeting.
We are meeting to elect a new Web Master. Our Business Meeting in June
resulted in no candidates coming forth, so we will continue with the
current topic.
The Web Master position is a communications position:
Maintains ASP web sites
Primary ASP web site open to the public
Source of information about ASP for non-members
Primary gateway for joining ASP
Secondary ASP web site for ASP members only
Source of administrative and business information to
ASP members
Mailing list server site
Subscription status access for ASP members
Archive access for members
Alternate List Administrator #3
A brief Summary of the procedure:
The process will go like this:
1. We announce that the position of Web Master is open.
2. Any member of ASP meeting the qualifications** for the
Officers of ASP may make themselves available. The qualifications
to serve as an officer of ASP are listed below under "Important Notes".
Members make themselves available by providing their Al-Anon resume
to the Chair of this meeting. If you are interested in making
yourself available for one of the ASP Officer positions, please
complete the resume form and submit it to me no later than midnight,
June 8th (CST). To obtain a resume form, go

"Resume" click on either format (MS Word Document, Adobe PDF or HTML)

3. The deadline for submitting a resume is Midnight, Friday, August 8th,
CST.
4. The meeting will re-open so that members may ask the
candidate(s) questions. Please keep your questions appropriate to
Al-Anon. Do NOT post messages unrelated to the election of the Web Master.
5. The Q&A period for the election of the Web Master will close at
Midnight, Sunday, June 15th, UNLESS there is some highly
unlikely and unforeseen issue that suggests that we need to continue
the Q&A session.
6. If we do not have more than one member available for the position, the
Chair will entertain a motion to elect the new Officer
by acclamation. It will still require a vote to affirm such a motion.
7. The List Administrator will create a polling page on the ASP web site
which is how we will actually vote.
8. We will announce the location of the polling page - this sometimes
takes a day or so.
9. There will be no discussion while the polls are open - the Business
Meeting server will be on moderated status while the polls to ensure
that this protocol is not violated.
10. The poll will close at Midnight of the third FULL day after the
polling page has been announced.
11. A simple majority is required to elect a Trusted Servant at ASP.
12. The Chair will announce the outcome of the vote/poll to the Business
Meeting, and make a similar announcement to the
ASP recovery meeting.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
A. The prerequisite to serving as an ASP officer: "One year's participation
in ASP is a prerequisite to serving as an officer of ASP.
Participation may take many forms, but merely having one's email
address on the ASP server is not participation."
B. The prerequisites for ASP List Administrator: "A member of ASP
must have served ASP in some other officer capacity for 1 year in
addition to any other minimum qualifications for ASP Officers."
C. "Members of AA who are also members of ASP are not eligible to
serve as Officers of ASP or on the ASP Steering Committee."
