Members of Al-Anon who are also members of AA are not eligible to serve as
officers of ASP or on the Steering Committee

Are you a member of AA? ___*No*______

Why would you like to serve ASP in this position? * I’ve enjoyed ASP for
several years and typically don’t have enough money *

*to contribute via 7th Tradition, so service is a way I can help support
the meeting. I think it’s a great meeting and it’s the only*

*meeting I attend now because of my work schedule and other commitments. I
enjoy doing service and think it’s the least I can*

*do considering all I’ve gotten out of Al-Anon over the years I’ve been a
member. Additionally, the position of Webmaster*

*intrigues me. I’m very comfortable with software and have some experience
designing web pages with a web design program. *

*I would like to have a little more experience doing things like that. I
would also like to serve on the steering committee for ASP.*

What changes would you like to see in ASP?

In general: *None. I think ASP is terrific just as it is. It’s
a wonderful online meeting and a good Al-Anon meeting in general. *

*No complaints! (Actually, this form could be a bit more user-friendly **J
)
                                    *

Specifically regarding this service position: *The website in
general seems fine. I would always be open to changing anything that *

*the members felt would be more helpful.

                                                *

What changes do you NOT want to see occur at ASP? *Again, I
think ASP is terrific just the way it is. If it works, don’t fix it! **J*

In what way do you feel you participate or contribute to the group?

*I chair meetings occasionally. I share on topic and offer ESH to members
personally when they request it. Sometimes I have *

*requested ESH myself and have been grateful for the responses I received.
I have sponsored a couple of other members. I *

*always attempt to adhere to the guidelines and to the principles of
Al-Anon when communicating with other members, *

*either privately or to the group at
large.
                                    *

How do you feel about the current guidelines at ASP?

[refer to http://www.asp-afg.org/ASP/Business/ASP_INFO.htm
<http://www.serenitysys.com/A_Serenity_Place/ASP_INFO.HTM>]

*I think they’re excellent. The ability to unsubscribe members or remove
someone from a service position is important in a *

*group like this because so much can go on behind the scenes with personal
emails being exchanged. Sometimes an individual *

*can be very disruptive to the meeting and whereas someone could be openly
confronted in a face-to-face meeting, in this meeting *

*that can’t happen, so the ability to unsubscribe someone is very
important. All the other guidelines appear to be practical and *

*consistent with my experience in Al-Anon

                                                *

Do you have technical or other experience that you feel is significant for
this position?

*I have a lot of familiarity with Microsoft software in
general. Also, my partner and I developed a website together, and I did
most *

*of the web page design. We used a program called Coffee Cup, but I assume
that the program used for the ASP website is similar. *

*The site has yet to be launched to the public, but you can view it here if
you like:http://www.5potions.com/5ptest/
<http://www.5potions.com/5ptest/> *

Describe your concept of how much time you have available to serve ASP and
how accessible you are to the other members of the Steering Committee and
the general membership of ASP.

*I typically go online for several hours per week for personal
communications, social media, etc. It would not be difficult to *

*incorporate the responsibilities of this position into that time, based on
the description that Steve gave. I do the same when I chair a meeting, *

*but I still have time leftover that I’m usually on the computer available
to devote to service as the ASP webmaster, service on the Steering *

*Committee and the general membership of
ASP.
                                                            *

Anything else that you would like to say . . .

*Just thank you for your time and consideration. I’ll respect
the decision of the Steering Committee regardless of whom you choose to *

*fill this position. Hugs! J *
