Just because I wasn't aware of any urgent need to fill the webmaster
position doesn't mean there wasn't (isn't) one. I fully appreciate that.
Again, if I had been told that the committee had decided that there was an
urgent need, I would have accepted that, especially with an explanation,
which is the last thing I requested in my interchange of private emails
with Melanie. I would have then considered it carefully and made my choice.
I didn't get to do that.
Also, while yes, I did withdraw my submission, as Steve said, that was
already a moot point. According to him, the committee decided to consider
Sandie and my resume was "effectively withdrawn." I did not abandon the
meeting. I could see that someone else was not only available, but being
actively promoted by the chair. I didn't know that my resume was no longer
under consideration, but didn't feel I was going to be seriously considered
at that point anyway.
I'm still here, but have both quit and been fired, so to speak. If you
still wish to consider me for the position, I'll let you know what I
decide. No one has asked so far. Or apologized, publicly or privately. But
I am still here.
