My first question is Why is this a problem?   There's definitely a huge
need, especially for newcomers.  The OT in the subject line allows us to
read or not, respond or not.  It's critically important that we answer this
need.  We were all desperate newcomers at some point in our lives.

This fills the need for sponsors.  Do we want to collect a list of virtual
sponsors, and anyone who wants one can have a list of people to choose?  Do
we want to have a separate email address for sponsor questions, answered by
a couple people in service to the group?

Is it crucial that we stay on-topic?  This feels overly controlling to me.
