[Businessmtg] Item #2 coming to a close...

Maybe you should take a head count to find your consensus. It's fairly
obvious to me that more are saying the newcomers are already deluged with
information and that adding the daily share, whichever day they may finally
see the list, would be over whelming to the already over whelmed.

Just because a newbie is "greeted" on Tuesday doesn't mean that person will
see, much less read shares on that first day. As a long time Al-Anon f2f
and OL member both, I found the amount of info and the joining process at
ASP to be over whelming. It took me a while to figure out the sharing
process, figure out the chair's share from others unless distinctly marked
as 'chair's share', skate around all the OT's, topic changes, pleas for
ESH, much less figure out and read a Chair's share to get anything out of
it. I can only imagine how the newbies to Al-Anon as a whole feel when
they see that mountain of reading material and hundreds of shares with
different titles - it took me several weeks to figure it out and decide to
participate.

Someone made the suggestion that anyone can send a daily chair's share to
anyone else. That should go without saying after seeing the greeter's
intro of a newcomer.

Keep It Simple; use Knowledge Based Decision Making sans so many acronyms
and text talk. (More confusion to many, I am sure).

Sincerely,
BJ
