[Businessmtg] Voting phase about to begin

Hi everyone,

The motion on the floor is "The Business Committee Chair may call for a
straw poll during the discussion of an Agenda Item, but before a motion is
formed, in order to collect committee attendees' positions and input which
may help form a motion that is acceptable to a substantial majority."

I've heard a couple of people express opinions about the "how" of the straw
poll. The motion itself doesn't limit the method, which would leave it up
to the chair to determine the best way to approach each individual issue.
Are the people who suggested the particular "how" OK with this ambiguity?

If there is no objection, since there doesn't seem to be much discussion
about the motion itself, I would like to give us 24 hours to complete
discussion and move into the voting phase.That would put our voting phase
starting in the evening of Monday 9/26.

According to our meeting policies, voting will go on for 5 days, and can go
beyond the end (Sept 30) of our meeting. Once the voting has started we may
move on in the agenda, but we cannot discuss the motion anymore.
