Hi everyone ,
"Discuss how our individual welcome emails swamp new
members and may cause them to unsubscribe within a day"
I've been part of the greeting commitee now approximately 8 weeks and the one thing that I get return emails about is the volume of emails followed by 'please unsubscribe me it's too much !'
However I don't get the impression it's the welcome emails themselves that are overwhelming them more the sudden influx of not only the welcomes but the immediate daily topic and shares that come with that .
I like Jerrys idea of maybe a weekly welcome meeting prior to joining the main list or possibly a generic one email welcome (though they already get that from the greeters in the 'welcome to asp ' email once signed up .
I think as a greeter it's important that when a new member enquires that we need to both reassure and confirm the volume of emails without putting them off completely .
Plus many new members often email me at my greeter email after being subscribed and welcomed and LOVE the fact that they get all these loving and personal individual welcomes , so I think it imperative that we don't loose that sense of personal welcome whilst trying to solve the 'overwhelmed ' issue
