As the LA I get many of the emails from newcomers wanting to unsubscribe. I would venture a guess that 98% give the reason for leaving is that they are overwhelmed with emails. I had noticed that some of those who unsubscribed on Day 1 when there were only 3-4 regular recovery room emails yet said they were overwhelmed. On another note we had one in the last couple weeks that went right through the process and then said they didn't realize it was a email meeting.
The Steering Committee and greeters are currently working on revising Greeter Letter #1. We are currently averaging 30-40 emails a day and that's o.k. For some of us who check email every hour or so but if they check their email every day it can become a problem. As we have heard some new members really like the welcomes but some it just overwhelms them.
We suggest to them that they use a separate email address but they don't always.. I have had two complaints that due to the overwhelming emails they missed important emails in their email.
We did the list clean up in July and just last week I received 2 emails from members who after 2 months realized they were unsubscribed. In the cleanup approx. 900 were unsubscribed and we have since resubscribed approx. 230 of those. Today our
membership is 571..
