Hi Folks. This is Beverly. Some people are new like myself to this
meeting. This is my second meeting. There are certain founding policies
that I have looked up. And I would suggest others do the same.

Currently we are still in the discussion phase of the KBDM process of the
original agenda, which is accepting resumes for positions. There are no
motions on the floor. We have not entered into parliamentary phase. We
have an agenda. We cannot arbitrarily change the agenda, because someone
makes a motion. We discuss one issue at time.

This process has been voted for and accepted. Long time ago.

In due process, if the meeting runs out of time then the meeting is tabled
to the next business meeting in September.

Section 7B1B of the KDBM process states all motions are out of order during
the discussion phase. We are always in discussion phase/KBDM, until we
reach a transition phase of the *same agenda *that we started with. The
agenda was announced at the beginning of the meeting.

The process used for the business meeting at ASP is an application of the
knowledge base decision making process as used by the WSO (World Service
Office)of Alanon. The process that is outlined in our founding policies is
the one that has been voted on and passed and used for our BM.

This process uses a blend of open discussion on a single topic or issue, on
the original agenda, to reach a point where the key parts of the issue, on
the original agenda, have been agreed-upon by a substantial majority of the
participants.

As the meeting reaches agreement on each sub part of the issue, on the same
agenda, the chair will post a notice describing the sub issue and the
agreements reached. And to note , the sub issue is to be part of the
original agenda. Once the meeting has agreed on all the sub issues, the
meeting will shift to the more traditional parliamentary phase where
motions are made.

It is important to note that the "KBDM" process is very time-consuming.
It is not unusual for an issue to remain unresolved after one session of
the business meeting. It is possible that many sessions may be required to
develop a true consensus and agree to the various points that are key to
the consensus. Because of this the KBDM is exceptionally appropriate for
policy decisions, but not housekeeping issues.

Vll. B. 1. b. " all motions are out of order during the KBDM phase of the
group conscience. "

Vll. B.4. "If the meeting runs out of time, then the issue is tabled for a
future meeting. "

In lieu of what is being presented at this meeting, I would like to know
Sandie, meant kindly and gently, in appreciation of your hard work, why are
you allowing this meeting stray from what is not on the agenda? And to
note, this is the second time I have called for a point of order in this
meeting.

As a trusted servant isn't it part of your responsibility in your job
description as list person, realizing of course you are filling two
positions here, secretary and list person, to keep the meeting on track?
To help all of the members to follow the guidelines which have been set up,
by founding policies that have been voted on and accepted? Since you have
accepted responsibility for both of these positions, don't you have a
responsibility to act in the best interest of staying on track with the
original agenda for the sake of the group in both of these positions, List
and secretary person? Is this is too much for you to do?

Thank you all for your consideration in the matter of unity for our group.

Peace and hugs.
