[Businessmtg] Straw Poll on discussion

Our ASP Secretary is conducting a straw poll to determine the direction of the issue regarding the existing motion to send out newcomer packets. Whether members respond to her privately or in the group is not a issue.  We have already had open discussion on the topic.  In many cases within Al-Anon votes are private. Our secretary could have simply had a electronic poll set up where only the webmaster would have seen the responses. She is a trusted servant of ASP and her integrity should not be questioned.

Motion: The Business Committee Chair may call for a straw poll during the discussion of an Agenda Item, but before a motion is formed, in order to collect committee attendees’ positions and input which may help form a motion that is acceptable to a substantial majority.
