Hi All: .

This is a controversial issue and needs to be discussed at another time.

I will first quote from BM link below about controversial issues:
Then I will quote a member's quote on this issue from October 9 in this
meeting:

Business Meeting format:

"!!. Major or controversial issues. Issues which would result in a major
change to ASP
or are controversial in nature will have a delayed discussion and voting
procedure".

And also, may i bring your attention to #s 3 & 4 of same link below about
BM format:

3. Once the discussion starts the Business Meeting will close and only
those subscribed will be able to participate in the discussions and vote on
the topic at hand.

4. At the end of that time any new members will be subscribed to the
Business Meeting so that they may join in for the next topic. This will
allow for continuity in the topic, and prevent 'packing' the meeting just
before a vote, and will also keep the meeting on track because we will not
be revisiting the beginnings of the discussion and bringing new members up
to speed"

So at this time I would like to add that bringing these new members ( no
offense to you guys) into the meeting is "packing" the meeting for a vote.

Member quote:

"Why are we bringing this to the October business meeting half way through
the month? And to what end? Jane shared a compare doc with the business
meeting back in May. First, I want to stress that everything that Jane did
to the website was filled with care and with the best intent, however, some
content changes were substantial and none of it was discussed.

Members-Only-Websites-Old-versus-New.pdf

–I am not suggesting we roll anything back, however, I think because people
are weary of the topic, they are willing to rush into approving it. In
rereading the archives that is exactly the response I am seeing, and not a
consensus worthy of a motion.

–I think that the SC can review Jane's compare against the archived
website. Remember, the website is a publication and not a blog, changing
content to jive with one person's experience is not appropriate. Removing
content that was voted on and replacing it with personal experiences that
aren't voted on is also inappropriate. Choosing a subset of acronyms
instead of publishing them all is also not appropriate. I could go on.
The link to the PDF is well organized, and will be easy to work through.
Jane did all the hardwork, refining and revising will be a production
effort.

–I would like us to focus on the original topic and get folks to step
forward in service instead of continuing to fuss over the website.

–Nowhere do I see on the original site that the business meeting agenda can
change once the meeting starts. This is a change to the meeting format that
was introduced and put on the newer website without a vote or approval from
the Business Meeting.

–Original Business meeting documented format. Voted on in 2006
http://www.asp-afg.org/ASP/nbm/format.htm"

And please be reminded that what is said and the issues in the BM are not
shared in the general recovery meeting.

Thank you all for your consideration in these matters..

Peace and hugs,
Beverly
