Sandie,
You said . . . " To amend the existing motion on the table, this motion
would first have to be passed prior to amending it."
This is not correct.
Amendments to motions are accepted, or not, by the mover and seconder BEFORE
the motion goes to a vote to be passed, or not.
Besides, I still need to point out that Jane has not posted her "motion" to
the Business Meeting. Quoting the text of what Jane INTENDED to be a motion
in the may agenda does not make it a motion. Neither does saying that Jane
made a motion, when in fact she has not made a motion. Since Jane has not
yet made a motion to the BM, there is still no motion for Barbara to second.
The bottom line is that we don't get to change the record of what happened
in a meeting. What happened is what happened, and what didn't happen didn't
happen. That's it. Very simple and straight forward.
Jane could have easily resolved this issue in the last few days by
presenting her motion to the BM as a motion. Of course, there was still the
sticking point of the fact that we were (are?) still in the KBDM process and
therefore ALL motions are out of order.

Thank you Jerry, it does sound like a reasonable solution. However, the
existing motion can only be withdrawn by Jane and Barbara.
To amend the existing motion on the table, this motion would first have to
be passed prior to amending it.

We all must know there has to be a better way than a black or white forced
solution.
