[Businessmtg] NEWCOMER COMMITTEE - SUMMARY

Evening all, 

I have just reviewed all the BM emails related to the Newcomer Committee
discussion. Of those who stated a yes or no regarding continuation of
the committee the yes's would win, but there are far too few to call it
a consensus of the Business Meeting. Only a very few thought no. In the
middle were a few leaning one way or the other with a half dozen
suggesting ideas. 19 individual BM members contributed out of our 29
members. 

So we have no consensus on keeping or canning the committee. With this
stalemate I'm going to ask a few members to group together to try to
form those suggestions we've received into a cogent proposal for our
next Business Meeting to look at. Hopefully we'll find a middle ground
we can all agree on and which will help our newcomers assimilate a bit
faster.
