Oy.
I am sooooo very careful always to double check my emails sent out. I dont
ever put in the "address" until i am finished writing, have TRIPLE checked
I preserved ALL anon, and fixed some of my typos.
This whole archive topic has mixed up my brain, which way i lean....
I am chiming in right now-I choose to even with no good ESH or ideas on
this subject because:
****** on one hand I think it is just fine to Keep emails in ASP,
Why?
Well, first of all, this world, as much as we believe we are "safe", is
techy and inadvertently ALL stuff put into a computer, phone, tablet,
email, text, etc..... IS out there for anyone to see and read.
Ergo, As i am on social media some, and have a phone, send texts, etc... My
words are accessible by anyone curious enough.....
It is just a reality of life.
As another stated, the only way to be truly anonymous (isolation) is to
live in the woods, and kill your own food, no phones, no cameras, no
computers....
and no f2f, that is fo sho!
I know EVERYONE at my f2f mtg... what they wear, the names of their
families, for the most part, Never said in the formal mtg, but as we grow
to know one another, the names fall out of mouths, their cars, if they run
or cycle, what gyms they attend....Fav foods, who their Qs are.
ETC.
People in Alanon, newcomers and old timeys Ultimately want to get out of
isolation, and what better way than to share their lives with others? esp
after-meeting convos?
--- I email folks here, one2one, and As soon as I hit send, they are "out
there" whether i like it or not.
It is a fact of our lives, my life.
If i Live in this world, My life is, on some level, out there!
OTOH archiving kind of scares the beejes out of me.
-
Why?
If our stuff is already accessible by creepy crawlers, or anyone curious
enough-with hard-core tech savvy-ness, why archive it too?
It is like handing candy to a baby.... If i had a Q who was violent and a
little extra
tech-y, I could be in big trouble.
-
I am on the fence here.
As another stated, a newcomer might wish to read old emails, find that one
nugget of ESH needed,
however, if a newcomer needs ESH on something, couldn't they just email an
O/T to the group rather than go hunting in all our old emails?
Just a tad creep-a-saurus-rex-y!
Plus as Steve said, ASP is bogged down by the bazillions of old emails and
shares, and it does halt our site from functioning properly.
Dunno.
Cannot decide so I will leave my email to the biz mtg at that, for now.

TY,
Alison
Oh and if one wishes to be more anon, one can change an email to leave out
their name, and not sign a post with their name, and change their Q to
something , someone else, and etc.
As Steve said, yet again, one can get as anon as one wishes..... even if
their posts and shares are "out there."
