Hi All,
I'm new to ASP midsummer, tho have been in Al Anon over a decade.
Thank you Jerry for the history -- so many new people like me; I'm glad to
have the info and context you shared.
When I first came to ASP, I used the welcome email to go to the ASP Members
site, and I liked what I saw there - it was consistent with the Al Anon I
was/am used to in healthy meetings. The actual meetings seem consistent to
it as well. IMHO.
That said, a couple of things:
* now that I know there is a "Service Structure" it'd be nice for the
difficulty in finding it this morning to be addressed, so there be a
straightforward page that just outlines the current service structure. I
don't feel the need to see it now -- I've seen enough over the last weeks
to trust our trusted leaders that the structure substance will be whatever
the agreed service structure is, and those with the know-how will make it
accessible on the website. I consider that a "housekeeping" tweak - and
other than that I am in favor of the content now, tho I am willing to defer
to long-timers who can put the current substance in context.
* I wholly agree with what Jerry outlined when he said:
- as part of this Sept Business Meeting we should "be specific about its
process for site content changes.
- So-called "housekeeping" changes can certainly be made without BM
approval (office holder names, typos, updates, etc.), but changes which
make any structural changes or changes to our Policies and Practices must
first pass through the Steering Committee and to the Business Meeting for
consideration using ASP's Group Conscience process."
I would agree to such as a motion.
In gratitude,
Emma
