[Businessmtg] "Mandatory Reporter"

The term "mandatory reporter" is used to describe those persons who are required, by civil laws, to report abuse and injury, etc. which they observe or suspect to civil authorities. I'm no expert, but I suspect that these laws vary from state to state, maybe community to community. Think nurses, teachers, doctors, police officers, etc.

It is not a term which applies within Al-Anon though individual members who are bound on one side by the law and on the other by Al-Anon's principles of anonymity (Tradition 12 and "Whom you see here and what you hear here stays here" and "Your anonymity is protected at all times", etc.) may struggle with what to do in certain circumstances.
