BJ makes good points. When acting as an Al-Anon the considerations are one thing. When acting on one's own volition and not as a member of Al-Anon the book is wide open. The trick - if there is one - is not to present ourselves as Al-Anons when acting in ways which are contrary to Al-Anon principles as we interact with the public.

Just for the record, Al-Anon holds no position/has no opinion/makes no recommendations when it comes to interventions. Purely an "outside issue" thing.
