[Businessmtg] Archiving or Archiving and Purging?

I didn’t know we began a discussion on purging the posted archives. I
thought we were discussing coming to a GC on deselecting the archiving
button. Maybe I missed an email however these are the emails I received and
used to guide me so far:

*From email: Business Opening*

“January 2019 BM Agenda:

 Welcome and Opening

 1) CALL TO SERVICE: Vacant Secretary Position

 2) Trusted Servant Reports

 3) Old Business

    a. ASP's Practice of Archiving Personal Shares

    b. Newcomer Packets

4) New Business - There have been no New Business suggestions”

*From email: list administrators report*

“Our BM Agenda this month covers two very important discussions:
one, the archiving of member shares, is a continuation from our last BM;
the other, how to provide newcomer packets as our existing Group
Conscience requires. I look forward to our discussions as we make
headway on these two items. Please remember that we discuss one topic at a
time.”

*From email: Consensus Reached*

“~ 15 members agreeing that ASP should purge past archived personal
shares and discontinue all future archiving of personal shares,

~ 1 member seeing no reason to act, and

~ 6 members not contributing to the discussion or expressing a position.

15/22 being greater than 2/3, a consensus has been formed.

The floor is now open for a motion which must contain all the elements
of the consensus:

~ All past personal recovery shares archived by ASP are to be purged,
and

~ There will be no future archiving of personal recovery shares by ASP.

In service,

Jerry H., acting BM Chair ”

I don’t understand that we have a motion for no archiving *and* purging
when we have not had any discussion about purging. While I think it makes
sense to do both, very few in this Business Meeting have mentioned purging
old archived shares. We have not thoroughly discussed how purging/deleting
would be accomplished, where the shares will “go,” the ramifications of
deleting what is archived currently, etc. In my opinion the
purging/deleting of the current archives needs its own GC.
