I’m in agreement for lowering the requirements. 6 months is reasonable. I’m
one of those Al-Anon members with longevity (14 yrs since 2005) in the 3D
world of Al-Anon. I have done service beyond the group at both District and
Area and have been on committees for conventions and events. I have a
sponsor (she also serves as a service sponsor as well), and I’m a certain
certified AMIAS in Oregon.
However, ASP has its unique culture and style as each meeting is autonomous
but not so autonomous that it deviates from the principles of the Al-Anon
program that makes Al-Anon, Al-Anon. It’s still important to learn by
participating via posting shares, posting correctly, reading the FAQ and
exploring the members pages of ASP. My program teaches me that I’m no
expert and have all the answers. ASP is an incredible lesson in Q-TIP and
How Important Is it? The Digital Al-Anon can be volatile. That 6 months
window to collect ESH about ASP can be the 1st building block to collect
your ASP experience.
