Hi Anne,

You stated, “I believe since some time in 2012, the greeter chairs have
been using 6 months as a minimum requirement in the recruitment emails to

membership.  I have a habit of not reinventing the wheel (and I can be a bit
lazy) and took an email sent by a prior chairperson to craft my own.  I did
not read the policy on the website when I started in my position last year
and apparently several of us may not have done so.“

I’m not clear on exactly what this means.

Jerry asked, “it seems there was an administrative decision to elevate the
service
requirement [for greeter and topic chair] from six  month's
participation to one year. Could someone please relate the
input/reasoning which prompted this change? I think it would help us
understand why one year was chosen over six months.“

Anne, are you answering Jerry’s question or something else? Was this change
of 6 months to 12 months a typo? An administrative decision? Or was there a
group conscience to change it?  I agree with Jerry that the answer to this
question could help us further flush out this issue.

I do not agree however that this is an administrative decision to change
from 12 months participation to 6 months, even if that was what was done
previously. I think a group conscience is the Al-Anon way.
