[Businessmtg] Statement of Opinion on Greeter Position

Hi BM,
I am not in favor of the current motion. I believe leaving the time
requirement to one year on ASP for the greeters is healthier for ASP
overall.
My main concern is that members with one year of active participation in
ASP are not willing to serve ASP.  I think we need to discuss why this is,
rather than discuss a bandaid solution of reducing time requirements for
greeters. This discussion and motion was born from a current desperate
need, (which is not one of our Traditions). The process we have now has
worked well for 13.5 years without harm to newcomers, or ASP. My greater
concern is that once we change the greeter requirements, all the other ASP
positions’ requirements will be changed and that will significantly effect
the quality of the recovery meeting, the Business Meeting and ASP as a
whole.
I’m aware there there is now a motion on the floor, however I thought with
the KBDM process we were supposed to discuss a topic for 3 business
meetings before taking it to a vote?  I could be wrong, however there still
seems to be considerable discussion ongoing about this topic.  I agree with
recent points made by Danielle and Anna and think we need more discussion.
