Hi Folks,
A thought occurred after reading the comment part of our process.

How are we helping Anne, who has the carefully defined service authority?

My understanding: Listening is our Al-Anon part in this circle as is Thank
you.  Asking thoughtful questions in hopes of being informed also is our
part.

What did we learn from Anne?

We know new members are joining us daily.  The process is working and not
the problem.  Willing members with 8 or so months active participation are
the ones stepping forward and NOW being asked to wait.  One Greeter is
serving a second term.

Willing members with at least 6 month have been doing the position up until
this recent members website discovery by Anne.

Anne is asking us to align our structure to 6 months from the year since
it’s been working and the members currently willing to serve are within 6
months to under a year.  I believe her words were 8 months.

Saying no to the willing doesn’t sit well for me when Service is our 3rd
leg and Greeter is a start up group service opportunity.  (I was willing
and insane.  In service I learned my own thinking was my problem.  I began
to focus on myself.  I needed help so I got a sponsor and actually began
healing).

In my mind we are informed.  Our Chair Jerry disclosed each of the
participating members expression from the discussion period to also include
those who have not participated.

A motion was made and seconded saying we are informed and ready to proceed.

Does this motion express our discussion period of the process?

I believe it did?

I was ready to vote and now not so sure where we are standing whether out
of order or not continued discussion.

I suggest a time out, a Serenity Prayer, a moment to connect with our own
HP.

So we can come back with an open mind, presuming goodwill.
