Here are my thoughts in response to your 3 questions.

 

Years ago while in another program I served in many roles and found it very
rewarding, much like Anne O. shared in her email. I look forward to the
opportunity to serve ASP and give back what has been given to me with your
shares and guidance.

 

In sharing service with other ASP members we all take ownership in
maintaining the health of ASP. This group is important for many people in
many different ways. It's ability to function and perform that support in a
healthy and stable way is key to the groups ongoing success.

 

I started attending Alanon F2F meetings and joined ASP late December of last
year so I am fairly new in my recovery. Because I am so new I think it would
be best if I had more ESH in Alanon and ASP before I volunteer. It's
important to me that I learn and know the steps, traditions and concepts of
service. I also thought I read somewhere that you needed to be an ASP member
for 6 months. Is this correct? If not is there any minimum time with ASP
required prior to serving?
