Hi Business Meeting,

Thank you to all who serve.

I do not qualify to serve at ASP.

I like the idea of changing the terms for service, as 3 years would be
daunting to me, if I were eligible to serve.

I think a topic on service weekly is a great idea. It is a crucial part of
Al-Anon and allows us to use all the legacies in navigating recovery.

The idea of daily chairs announcing the Business Meeting is worth a shot.
I’m concerned that if it is not a part of the daily topic, the information
would be bypassed.  I know when I read the daily chair I often scroll
through the opening and go directly to the CAL. If the announcement is a
part of the opening I wonder if it would be missed.

I have read here for several months about the positions that need to be
filled. Each month the need becomes more dire and the emails from the
Steering Committee become more desperate. I suggested a few months ago that
these types of emails be sent to the whole of ASP in order that all
understand the situation. Many who read it will not qualify to serve the
Steering Committee, however, it may spark more interest in the other
positions (greeters, daily chairs) and in the Business Meeting itself, if
people know their lifeline is in trouble.  Is there a reason that I’m not
understanding, that this dire need has not been communicated to the
recovery meeting?
