Hello everyone, 

I joined ASP about 4 months ago. ASP is the only Al Anon meeting I've gone to, I've never been to a face to face. As a newcomer with no previous Al Anon experience, I completely agree with the 6 month requirement. However, the main reason is that it is taking a while to get submersed in all of the CAL, the steps, the process at ASP, etc. If someone new to ASP is already familiar with Al Anon, then I agree they could be ready sooner than 6 months, on a case by case basis.

Also, is there a waiting list or something like that for chairing? If someone volunteers, but isn't selected, are they then asked first next time? It seems from what people have said that there are times when too many people volunteer and times when not enough people volunteer, so wondering if a waiting list would be helpful?
