[Businessmtg] Requirements for chairing meetings

I'm Missy S. I'm a "less than 6-monther" on ASP, but have 2 years in
Al-Anon. So glad I've found ASP!  I'm still learning how this meeting
structure works, which is why I wanted to take part in this meeting.

It seems the purpose of the 6-month rule is to ensure that those chosen to
be a daily chairperson have a strong commitment level and have been
"vetted." It would seem that could be surmised by how often they've shared
in the meetings during their membership and a perhaps a short questionnaire
about their length of membership and service to Al-Anon. Perhaps a tiered
approach?

I agree with those who would like to give voice to new chairs if there are
new people willing and wanting to serve vs. filling a vacancy with a
continued current chair. I am very grateful to the daily chairs for their
service, but the beauty of Al-Anon, IMHO, is the rotation of service and
hearing varied ESH. I know I've heard profound shares from newcomers.
