Hi everyone,

I am in agreement with the latest suggestion from Jerry, although I would
like to specify that to be eligible to be considered if you have less than
6 months active participation in ASP, a person should have at least 5
months active participation in ASP plus several years in Al-Anon which
includes some form of service.

"I find Susie's comment below to be a perfectly acceptable limitation on
any Secretary's discretion on naming Topic Chairs when no otherwise
qualified volunteers step forward:

"I would consider giving the Secretary discretion, but only after the
Secretary has posted at least 3 announcements of the openings and only
after getting approval from the Steering Committee."

Even further, we could specify that calls for Topic Chair service are to be
published on the 1st, 8th, and 15th of the month prior to the beginning of
a new Topic Chair slate."
