Hello to all, 
Thanks to all who have contributed to this business meeting. Your many hours and much thought are appreciated.  

I at first wondered if it was necessary at this point in time to elect a GR.  After reading Part 3 of Steve’s informative 4 Part  Opening, I quickly understood the necessity.  It appears to me that WSO’s practice of making decisions that affect the membership of Al-Anon on the group level is contradictory to Al-Anon’s  Tradition 2.    For our group purpose there is but one authority—a loving God as He may express Himself in our group conscience. Our leaders are but trusted servants—they do not govern.
With the increase in reliance and dependance on electronic meetings,  I feel it is important to the survival of Al-Anon that the voices of the members continue to be heard. 
My Gratitude goes out to f2f meeting Delegates who voted to recognize the electronic meetings in accordance with my understanding of Al-Anon’s 1St, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Traditions. 

According to the letter Posted 05-07-2021 to the CMA’s  I understand  that WSO has scheduled a phone conference call with the CMA’S of electronic meetings for Late July.    It seems prudent for ASP’S  CMA to have an informed opinion concerning the need for a GR previous to this phone call.   The information on the procedure for voting or other details concerning the GR can be discussed during the upcoming meeting in Sept. 

For the above stated reasons I support ASP-AFG creating the position of GR and the position of Alternate GR. 

I also support the proposal that the GR and Alternate GR have full membership in the Steering Committee.  Given the large amount of information and the knowledge needed to serve the members of ASP;  membership in the Steering Committee can provide a healthy information exchange that will continue to support ASP as it moves toward it’s new position in the World Wide Fellowship of Al-Anon with full representation.
