Hi ASPers,



Moving on to discussing the portion of updating Motion #4 regarding the
elimination of the Web Master position and rolling those duties into the
Secretary position.

I’ll start by summarizing the Steering Committee’s observations and
recommendation.

1.	The Web Master position involves a few minutes work (typically less
than 30 minutes) on a very occasional basis.  It is not unusual for months
to go by without any need for the Web Master to do anything.
2.	The Secretary’s duties are also periodic, although more regular.

a.	Every other month:  Chair the Business Meeting.
b.	Twice annually:  Recruit & train new Daily Chairs for recovery
meeting.

3.	Since the Web Master duties are largely secretarial in nature, it
follows that the Secretary could absorb the duties of the Web Master with
relative ease.
4.	Some are concerned that the technical side of the Web Master duties
could overwhelm the Secretary, so the Steering Committee also recommends
that the Secretary be authorized to appoint an assistant “Recording
Secretary” to handle those duties.  The Recording Secretary would report
directly to the Secretary and not be a member of the Steering Committee.

Please note the following:

1.	This is the recommendation of the entire Steering Committee.
2.	This change has nothing to do with the Group Rep situation.

In summary, the Steering Committee is recommending that the Web Master
position be eliminated and the duties rolled into the Secretary position.

OK, the floor is open for discussion of the changes to the Web Master and
Secretary positions on the Steering Committee.  I believe there may have
been some confusion in the previous Business Meeting - discussion is open to
all members of the Business Meeting.
