Hi ASPers,

Jae, thanks for your comments and question as to why the current
announcement board appears to be deactivated. You ask a good question. In
answer to your question, the announcement board has not actually been
deactivated. The current process is that anyone who has something to add to
the announcement board, sends the announcement to Anne K. for her to post.
Basically. she has received no announcements and so the announcement board
is in its current state.

Since the procedures for the announcement board don't appear to be working
very well, the item was brought to the business meeting for member input.
Our first order of business is to decide if we want to continue having an
announcement board. If the answer is yes, then we need to figure out
the best way to reconstitute the announcement board. The steering committee
has actually been working on a document that modifies how service is
organized. Announcement board procedures would be part of those
modifications. We plan to bring these potential service position changes up
for discussion at the next business meeting.

Gathering member interest in revitalizing the announcement board helps
inform the steering committee in our work toward drafting possible changes
to bring before the members. Another reason that member input is important.
