[Businessmtg] OLD BUSINESS

Thanks Steve for bringing this up. I don’t know the context of why this was put up as a topic. But we do have 3 positions that are being filled by the founders (at the request of the steering committee) because they were vacant and no one has yet volunteered to fill them. Anne is doing double duty as the Group Representative and the Treasurer. And Steve is the Secretary.

Does anyone have suggestions on how we can as a group set up an environment where more people volunteer for these important service positions?

From the prior reports, ASP has >900 members, around 120 people actively sharing in any given month, but only 15-20 people attend the business meetings every other month (or at least that is my recollection of the last few meetings).

To be eligible to serve in one of these positions, someone has to have at least 1 year of service at ASP (so 2 terms as a daily chair, 1 term as a greeter or recording Secretary) and has to attend a business meeting to be elected.

I’m relatively new here and would love to hear what people think are the barriers to service at ASP and how we can fill these current vacancies.

Hugs,
Lynne
