I agree with the reasoning that service positions can not be split.  Many of the Traditions and  Concepts speak to this idea, especially Concept #3, The right of decision makes effective leadership possible.  

However, I have come to understand that I am never alone in A-Anon service when I’m doing it properly.  When I have accepted any position, I have reached out informally to others for their ESH or more formally by asking an individual whom I respect to be my Service Sponsor.  There is a CAL Pamphlet, p-88, “Service Sponsorship, Working Smarter not Harder” that is an excellent guide.

Before I volunteered here at ASP as a Topic Chair and later a Greeter, I followed my own advice and reached out to someone here in the group that I respect.  That person graciously said yes and has become an important part of my recovery. 

Take what you like of my ideas and leave the rest.
