Hi group,

I favor reducing the prior ASP service requirements from one year to 6
months for SC positions, with the exception od secretary and LA. Sure, in a
perfect world, more service experience would be beneficial.
Unfortunately,  we haven't been in that perfect world for some time. The
benefits of having fresh perspective outweigh the learning curve of members
with less service experience.

While the 3 year service term for SC positions is important for consistency
and stability,  it also seems folks in those positions are frequently
resigning before their 3 year term ends. Life in these times is uncertain
for all, but perhaps more so for those of us who love an alcoholic.  Is the
3 year commitment holding back people who are otherwise qualified to serve?
Would reducing the commitment to 2 years seem less formidable and motivate
those who are able to step forward?
