[Businessmtg] ASP - Business Meeting discussion

   Hi Business Friends,

   It has been so encouraging and invigorating to see the discussion and
   involvement regarding the service positions.  I have found everyone's
   thoughts and suggestions pertinent and reasonable.


   I would just like to add one more, strictly personal, observation about
   myself in regard to the positions.  I am not a technie in any way, and
   I find the technical aspects of today's world and some of the positions
   intimidating.  When I served as Greeter, I cannot tell you how much I
   loved doing it.  Yet I felt very inadequate and felt like I was more a
   burden than a help with the mistakes I made and the `help' I kept
   needing from the chair.  Anne was WONDERFUL and patient as Job, and
   encouraged me every step of the way.  These feelings were not her
   problem, rather mine.


   Also, in regard to the length of service - there are no guarantees in
   any position that a person can complete the term they sign up for -
   that's simply life.  In these rooms, there seems to be someone always
   willing to step up to the plate.  A simple example is my f2f meeting
   where someone signs to take the key to the building for a month. Even a
   short month sometimes doesn't work in which case someone picks up the
   key - even if left on the table when no one volunteers, when the
   meeting ends - it's gone and taken care of.


   Bottom line, there is no way to cover every single base, guaranteed,
   all the time.  It still seems to work.
