[Businessmtg] Packets for Newcomers!

The group conscious to offer newcomer's packet to new ASP members must have been taken more than 4 years ago because I have never heard it discussed in any of the business meetings I have attended.   I'm reasonably sure that no packet was offered to me when I joined this group.  I was on the Greeter Committee for a year and never saw anything in the scripts that we used nor had any instructions about offering a packet. I requested and received permission from the Steering Committee to add the links to free CAL downloads from WSO site in the welcome emails we send.  I'm assuming that information is still included.  While these free publications are helpful, they are not a substitute for a newcomer's packet. better than nothing.


  1.  If there is a group conscious decision to offer these packets, why it this valuable material not offered to everyone who joins ASP?
  2.  The packets cost $1.40.  The treasure's report indicates that we have more than sufficient funds to do so.
  3.  There is also an electronic packet for $1.40 offered on the Al-Anon.org store through a link to Amazon.  Some members might prefer to receive the information this way.

I would be willing to work with the Greeter and /or Steering Committee to facilitate this process.

P.S. I still have the Newcomer's Packet that was given to me nearly 30 years ago.  It is a valuable resource and I treasure it.
