I might not be here, might not even be alive, if someone hadn't gently pressed that Newcomer Packet into my hand all those years ago.  I could then choose to ignore it or read it at my leisure.  It is still a part of my Al-Anon Library.    How can a Newcomer know whether they need it or not?   How many are going to bother with chasing it down in a link on the website?

I love ASP, it was a new beginning in the program for me.  I would like to see us exploring CAL and our link to the Worldwide Fellowship of Al-Anon more thoroughly.    I see giving each member, or at the very least offering and encouraging them to accept, an electronic packet as a good way to start that process.

I've heard walking into an Al-Anon meeting  described as walking into the middle of a very complex movie.   The packet gets to the heart of the program and addresses many of the problems and fears that a Newcomer is facing allowing them to gently ease into the program.

With a New Worth of $1,372.56, I believe the group can afford a $1.40 electronic Newcomer Packet for each Newcomer.  I'm sure the logistics of working it out are not that complicated and my offer to help is still on the table.
