Hello friends,

I have waited several days to reply in order to take in all the
information.

I had actually drafted several emails and each time decided to wait.

These are my thoughts:

In al anon, one of the key principles is anonymity. It is how we run our
program.

(Tradition 12)

   1. Anonymity is the spiritual foundation of all our Traditions, ever
   reminding us to place principles above personalities.

Anonymity is the most important thing here. Some members do not want their
spouse or qualifier to know they are in Al Anon. Can we make our decision
so that anonymity is still the highest priority?

Additionally, following traditions 5, and 1, we agree to help families of
alcoholics as well as

   1. Our common welfare should come first; personal progress for the
   greatest number depends upon unity.”



All that being said, and after recognizing and reviewing the information,
it seems as though the packets could help protect anonymity.

Digital packets could help in our efforts to support traditional 5 as well
as all the information cited previously regarding the WSO and literature.

Looking at tradition one, we also have to do what is *best for the group,
progress not perfection. *

I think it is important that we consider all these aspects and wait until
next month to see how we can best proceed.
I thank all those who researched, participated, analyzed and looked at
this.

My suggestion would be to let the Steering Committee continue to research
this further and discuss a clearly worded way that we could “update” our
packet policy at the next business meeting.
