[Businessmtg] Alternate path to SC

Hi all,

After reading the recent thoughtful discussion, I still support the
proposal currently on the table. Unfilled SC positions, people leaving
those positions before their term is complete, or not fulfilling the
requirements, aren't a new issue for this group. I believe granting the SC
the ability to waive the minimum service requirements case by case for
these positions is a workable solution to widen the pool of applicants
while the BM explores long term solutions to this ongoing prothem.

Allowing the SC to vet applicants and unanimously waive the current
requirements to serve is one way to increase the pool of eligible
applicants. The BM retains final say, by electing a candidate with a 2/3
majority. If at some time this process does not work out, it can be
revisited and a new group conscience formed.

If a candidate is vetoed by one of the SC, they still have the ability to
submit their resume for review and voting by the BM once they DO meet the
one year prior service requirement, correct? For example John Doe, with 6
months service experience, meets vis Zoom with the SC, and only 2 of the
current 3 members approve of submitting his resume to the BM for voting. He
can still submit a resume for voting by the BM when he meets the one year
service requirement. Viewed this way, no one is being eliminated by one SC
member's vote.
