[Businessmtg] Questions about tracking numbers

Hi Beverly,

There are over 900 people subscribed to ASP, but only about 130 people
on average share each month. So there are a lot of people who are
subscribed, but don't share regularly. That doesn't mean they don't read
shares though! Or share occasionally. That is why I report all of those
numbers separately.

If there are email addresses that are no longer working, i.e. the server
gets a bounce notification when trying to send emails, then those email
addresses are eventually unsubscribed by the server, after several
notices. That is all an automatic process. When those non-functional
email addresses are eventually unsubscribed by the server, I would
include that in the # of unsubscribed members each month.

Steve, the List Administrator at the time, did purge a lot of inactive
email addresses last year or the year before. The definition of inactive
was to not respond to a series of emails saying that if you don't
respond, your email address will be unsubscribed. I think that took out
a couple thousand email addresses - largely due to the huge increase in
members during the pandemic, although Steve can confirm the numbers. I
believe it is up to the List Administrator how often to do these purges,
but in practice they have been done every few years. Again, Steve can
give some more background.

Hugs,
Lynne
