[Businessmtg] Questions about tracking numbers

Hi Beverly,

As Lynne noted, there are currently a little over 900 email addresses
subscribed to ASP. Simply put, that means the server sends shares to 900+
email addresses.

And as Lynne also noted, if an email address does not work, and the email
actually bounces, then the ASP server receives a bounce message and after X
number of bounce messages, the ASP server automatically unsubscribes that
email address as not working. However, neither we nor the server have a
magic wand that tells us whether someone at the working email addresses is
actually looking at their email.

However, our experience has shown us that a majority of individuals
subscribed to ASP do not read the ASP shares at all. We know that because
every few years the List Administrator 'purges' the list of inactive email
addresses. This is done by sending out a series of notices to the meeting,
over the course of a month, instructing ASP members to reply that they are
still here. The last time we did that was in the Fall 2020. I sent out 5
notices from August 2020 through early October 2020. When I started the
process, ASP had approximately 3,800 subscribers. In mid-October, we did
not receive replies from 2,975 email addresses, so they were unsubscribed.

In other words, after the ASP mailing list has "aged" a few years,
approximately 70-80% of the email addresses subscribed are no longer active.
If I apply this to today’s 911 email addresses subscribed, I can estimate
that roughly 680 of those email addresses are inactive, leaving
approximately 230 semi-active members, with something over half of our
actively participating [sharing] members.

When considering these stats, it might be worth while to remember that we
have 200± members, not 900+ when we’re talking about ASP issues, such as
trusted servants. We currently have 14 trusted servants or roughly 11% of
our actively participating members are involved in ASP service – a
respectable number IMHO.

Love and SERENITY,

Steve

Hi Biz Pals. Thank you for your reports. The graphs are interesting.

I am wondering if there are any email addresses that are inactive? Are they
counted in the totals and or if and how is this taken into consideration?

Thank you.

Beverly
