Hi everyone,

We are moving onto our next business meeting topic - Discussion of 
creating an Alternate Group Representative position at ASP. We will be 
discussing this until the end of the BM on July 31st.

During the last business meeting in April, there was discussion around 
turning the At-large positions into an alternate GR (group 
representative) and alternate CMA (current mailing address). There was 
not consensus around that, but there did seem to be large support for 
creating an alternate GR position now that we are a group and have a GR. 
So we would like to open up a discussion on what that position would 
look like. I also want to make sure we get Anne's opinion on what would 
be useful/helpful for an alternate to do that would help the GR? Here 
are some questions that we would need to address as we think through 
this position:

1. Would this be an elected position on the Steering Committee? Or an 
appointed position?

2. What would the term be? 1 year? 3 year? Other?

3. What would the duties be?
