Good Morning all,

I am sorry, I have been pulled away from many things due to some personal
obligations..... I will do my best to outline this but know that my time is
limited and I am still trying to find my way as GR in this new virtual area.

-I think from my perspective, we could list the position as a one year
commitment, I don't have a strong opinion at this point on elected vs.
appointed or if it is a position that would sit on the steering committee.
-this person would have access to the groups i.o site - where GEA messaging
and information posts as well as where GRs can interact with others through
email  (I think an alt GR would have access - I need to confirm though) and
5the Alt GR could help the GR sift through the waves of information that
come through.
-The person could attend assemblies and meetings and when the elected GR
couldn't attend, and would have a vote.  Note, that if GR and Alt GR attend,
only one, the GR, would be able to vote.

Just my thoughts, and not complete.  I am going to be offline for a bit
again.  I hope this helps get the discussion going.

Hi everyone,

We are moving onto our next business meeting topic - Discussion of creating
an Alternate Group Representative position at ASP. We will be discussing
this until the end of the BM on July 31st.

During the last business meeting in April, there was discussion around
turning the At-large positions into an alternate GR (group
representative) and alternate CMA (current mailing address). There was not
consensus around that, but there did seem to be large support for creating
an alternate GR position now that we are a group and have a GR. 
So we would like to open up a discussion on what that position would look
like. I also want to make sure we get Anne's opinion on what would be
useful/helpful for an alternate to do that would help the GR? Here are some
questions that we would need to address as we think through this position:

1. Would this be an elected position on the Steering Committee? Or an
appointed position?

2. What would the term be? 1 year? 3 year? Other?

3. What would the duties be?
