[Businessmtg] My Final List Administrator Report

Hello everyone,

For anyone new to the business meeting, the list administrator has a lot
of varied jobs, all related to making sure things are running smoothly
for our members. I am the main point of contact if members are having
any issues. I am also the person who has to resolve things if a member
breaks the rules at ASP. I make sure the server runs smoothly, which
involves clearing emails that get stuck in the server for one of many
reasons, most often because an email is addressed to more than one
person. I am the chair of the Steering Committee, which means setting up
our zoom calls and shepherding discussions when necessary. I set up and
manage ASP email addresses. I also report to the BM and participate in
the SC. I'm sure I'm missing some things, but this is most of the
things that I do. The time I spend on this is variable as most of this
is based on what other people do or need. :) But all very manageable in
my opinion once I got the hang of it.

My 3 year term ends at the end of this month! How has 3 years gone by so
quickly? I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to serve ASP and
I have definitely received more than I have given as this position has
led to a lot of personal growth and a chance to put the traditions and
concepts into practice. I'm also incredibly grateful to all the members
on the Steering Committee over my 3 years. It is such a great group of
people and has been one of the healthiest, most functioning groups I've
been a part of.

Ok, on to my regular report. I am keeping track of a few measures of
our membership and share them every meeting. This information can be
useful in seeing the health of ASP and to spot any significant movements
up or down. Here are some graphs:

1. The number of members at ASP as of April 1, 2025 is 302.

2. The number of people who unsubscribe each month.

3. The number of shares/day (the total shares per month divided by the
number of days in the month). This is the only one I can easily gather
historical numbers on, so this goes back to January 2019. This starts at
January 2019 (1/19) then goes to January 2020 (1/20), etc. each dot is
one month in the year. The last 2 dots on the right are February and
March 2025.

A note about the number of members at ASP. I did a purge of inactive
members last year, which is why the numbers went down so much and then
up again a bit. I continued to add back people who were unsubscribed
until about May. There were a few others that popped up as late as
December.

Also, in November last year, the server had a bit of an issue with all
Yahoo/AOL email addresses and sent all of them a bounce notification
that said that they needed to re-enable their address in order to remain
subscribed. I followed up with the server technical support and was able
to apply a fix to the server to prevent this issue from happening again.
I also emailed all of the affected members and explained what they
needed to do to stay subscribed. However, some of the affected
individuals did not reply to me asking for help and/or did not re-enable
their subscriptions, so the server unsubscribed them. That is why there
was a bump in November in the number of people unsubscribed. As they
reach out to me, I am resubscribing them.

Please let me know if there are any questions about the metrics I
shared.

Hugs,

Lynne
