If we can delete the archive now, I fail to understand why it could not be deleted periodically in the future, every 3 to 6 months. 

However, if that is not an option, then the only solution that I find acceptable is to delete all shares now and stop archiving them going forward. 

I believe that maintaining a perpetual permanent archive of personal shares is not in keeping with Al-Anon principles as I understand them.  It is not a safe practice.
