[Businessmtg] Recover Meeting Archives - next steps

Hi friends,

 

We now will move to the next phase of the archiving topic.  And while there
is a consensus that member shares should not be archived in the current
state, not all believe they should be deleted completely.  Please remember,
that during our last meeting, Lynne did do the research on server
capabilities - deleting archives deletes them permanently without the
ability to restore; we are not able to set rules on archiving, for instance,
keeping only a subset and letting older ones drop off; it is a bare bones
service.

 

I tallied the following from the week's discussion. 

 

We had one meeting member drop out so we now have 23 meeting participants
instead of 24.

 

9 meeting members are in favor of/willing to change how we archive by
changing permissions around who can access - with 3 of these on the fence

8 meeting members are in favor of removing archives completely - with 2 of
these on the fence

6 did not participate in the discussion.

 

As you can see, it is something of an even split.  The consensus is that
folks agree that a change should be made, now we discuss shaping a motion
that both sides of the argument can agree to.  Please do not make a motion
before we complete the discussion.
