Biz-Pals,

In my middle-of-the-night, post Super Bowl letter this morning I said I would chart
out ASP's donations and make some sort of projection of what funds over our
Prudent Reserve we might foresee. I'd be great if there were a definite trend one way
or the other, but the truth is donations waver within a range. With only a little over two
years of history at being self supporting, any figures put forward would be "best guess"
at best.

What I did do was put together our donations by quarter less expenses for 2006 & 2007.
This gives us a rough estimation of past performance and a glimpse of monies we may be
able to expect to accumulate beyond our current, fully funded Prudent Reserve. (For those
quarters before our transition to being self supporting I subtracted an amount that we would
have spent were we paying our bills at our current rate at the time. Also, I added our two donations
to the WSO back in so these donations wouldn't skew the numbers.) Oh, I cut the tip of my thumb
off with a pair of very sharp scissors today, so I don't have the patience to be exact with the numbers.
I've added in my head and rounded fairly liberally, but you can trust that the figures are sufficient for the general purposes of our discussions.

Donations Over Group Expenses by Quarter
2006:
1st Qtr. - $20
2nd Qtr. - $110
3rd Qtr. - $165
4th Qtr. - $340
2007:
1st Qtr. - $155
2nd Qtr. - $125
3rd Qtr. - $130
4th Qtr. - $ 60

These donations over expenses have gone into getting our Prudent Reserve fully funded.
Were we to be blessed with future donations in this same ball park, these numbers fairly
represent how much money we will have over the P.R. at the end of any given quarter
for use beyond our current expense levels. So when we propose to send, say, 80% to
OLA-OC, that translates into a range of from $16.00 to $274.00 per quarter assuming
current expenses. Increased budgeted expenses would increase the P.R. amount and
therefore reduce these numbers accordingly.

I did a little poking around in OLA-OC's Treasury Reports. Their 2006 expenses were
$68; 2007 expenses were $50. There are perhaps a half dozen online groups currently
donating to OLA-OC. Some donate a uniform amount quarterly while others are more
sporadic. The following are fair examples of what these groups are doing.
Group 1 - $5 per Quarter
Group 2 - $0 to $90 per Quarter
Group 3 - $5 to $35 per Quarter
OLA-OC currently sends all monies it receives over their expenses to the WSO.

Hope the information helps. Time to change my bandage :-!

Jerry
