[Businessmtg] Disbursement of Excess Funds

Having been a member of this group a number of years now I would not agree that members donated with an understanding these funds would be automatically donated. Actually I think people donated beholden to the 7th tradition and with no clear understanding of where the money was going.  I find communication a bit lacking in this area to be honest. I believe that is the root of the problem and why we are in such excess to start with.  I actually believe there was no agreement on use of the money and that is where the stalemate was born.   From this most recent conversation it appears many things have grown stagnant: evaluating needs, attending to expenditures such as packet mailing, attending to the website, making donations.  If all of that is suddenly being given new life - which is a wonderful thing - than it is irresponsible fiscally to say "well lets's donate all excess then see where we are."  Just like we say in Al-Anon, we take care of ourselves
 first and then support others.  I do not believe it has to be an "all or nothing " thing. But I do think we sound much more in agreement to donate again to the WSO and if so how much is reasonable given some other unknowns.
