Hi Melanie and business meeting members,
KBDM-- Knowledge Based Decision Making--in its pure form does not allow for voting, everything is toward having a consensus. It is my understanding that Alanon KBDM process allows for motions and voting to be done, if the chair deems it opportuned, or to see if the group is near consensus. Of course, the chair can always extend the discussion. But oftentimes a break will do wonders in coming to consensus. Or the status quo is also good--we continue to talk to each other and reason things out.
James.
